A South Jersey native, Dr. Daniel Markel grew up in Voorhees. He received his undergraduate degree from Villanova University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry. His academic excellence earned him induction into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, a distinction reserved only for the top percentage of the graduating class.

Dr. Markel completed his orthodontic residency at Temple University, where he also earned a Master’s in Oral Health Sciences. Recognized early for his clinical precision and leadership, Dr. Markel was hand-picked to acquire and lead one of the oldest active orthodontic practices in Philadelphia. Located in Rittenhouse Square, he continues a 40+ year tradition of boutique, high-quality care at this historic practice.

Committed to the highest standards of complex case management, Dr. Markel is an active member of the Spear Study Club. In this multidisciplinary group, he collaborates with the region’s top dentists and specialists to elevate the quality of patient care and solve complex dental challenges.

Dr. Markel was personally selected to join the team at Segal and Iyer to bring his clinical expertise and uncompromising commitment to excellence to the practice.

Outside the office, Dr. Markel enjoys walking around the city, exploring local “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants, and serving as the “neighborhood travel agent” for friends and family. A first-generation American whose family immigrated from Ukraine, Dr. Markel is fluent in Russian and has a deep appreciation for Eastern European history and culture.

Dr. Markel is thrilled to return to South Jersey, bringing his expertise back to the community that shaped him.
